Top 10 Tips to buy a Bracelet

A bracelet is a priceless gift especially because it symbolizes true love of man for a woman. A bracelet can have different types of finishes depending on your taste, although, the most preferred one is the diamond bracelet and why not. After all, love is priceless!
In fact, bracelets have existed for centuries and were discovered through archaeological excavations. Bracelets were among other jewelry worn by men and women in particular of ancient civilizations. Therefore, it is probably one of the longest running fashion trends in the world!
Whatever your reason for buying a bracelet, what matters the most is the thought and the type of bracelet you buy. It is never easy to shop for a bracelet but here are some valuable tips that will help you to buy a bracelet.

Tip 1: Width of the bracelet
This is extremely important because if you don't buy a bracelet of the right width then the person it is meant for will not be able to wear it. While buying a bracelet, always take the measurement of the wrist of the person, you want to gift it to.

Tip 2: The Fitting

The fitting of the bracelet should be such that it should not be skin tight or too loose. If it is skintight it may hurt after some time and if it is too loose, then it might slip off. There are some adjustable bracelets available in the market today and you can always have a look.

Tip 3: Catching

When you buy a bracelet that is not of the exact fitting then there is a probability that they might get caught on to things.

Tip 4: Durability
Durability is a major concern but if you are buying a bracelet from a reputed vendor then this will not be much of a concern. All high quality bracelets will last for a lifetime unless of course, it's overused and not taken care of.

Tip 5: Colors

Bracelets come in many colors and color combinations. Always make sure that you buy a bracelet that is to the liking of the wearer and not be too bright or too dull.

Tip 6: Tine Setting

Most of the gemstone bracelets need a good amount of tine setting for example: tennis bracelets require as much as six tines for every gemstone on the bracelet so that each of the gems can stay secured on the bracelet. While tining the gems, it is important to make sure that they are evenly spaced in and around the gems. These tines should be strong. If the gemstone has corners (such as a marquis cut stone), the corners of the stone need to be protected.

Tip 7: Authentic Metal Quality
If you are planning to buy a metal bracelet then always check the metal quality. High quality bracelets always have a metal quality stamp on them. You will find etched markings on the inside of the bracelet like 14K, which stands for 14 Karat gold, and 950 Pt stands for platinum and 925 will be for sterling silver. Avoid buying bracelets made from electrolyzed metal as they can flake off or even cause rashes or irritation on the skin of the wearer.

Tip 8: Check the channel settings

Make sure that the channels for gemstones are real or authentic. Avoid buying a bracelet where you will see thin metal strips trying to hold the gemstones in place.

Tip 9: Casting Quality

High quality bracelets always have a high casting quality and hence can last longer. Make sure that you check the casting quality of a bracelet before buying it.

Tip 10: Don't buy cheap
Although high quality bracelets might pinch your wallet but remember that, they will last for a lifetime. Why buy something that will break within a few months?
